It superseded all other major discussions and national problems: The First Lady dared to walk off the plane in "short-shorts," (a misnomer to many since the shorts were mid-thigh-length), with her dangerously-low neckline blouse, The First Lady was accused by the same political and religious entities on previous occasions: 1-On her arrival at Rome's Urbe airport - July 8, 2009, for the G-8 Summit, wearing a wild, yellow frock full-length dress, accented by a green flower-brooch and two-tone pumps; 2-Feb. 24, 2009 - "Stealing attention from her husband," when she flagrantly sported a sleeveless dress at the Joint Session of Congress. |
With the adage, "Times are changing," the critics and pundits now pose the query, "How much skin is in?" -- especially for the First Lady. Never mind the Iraqi War, the Gutter-Economy, the National Deficit, or the Sky-rocketing Unemployment, all of which must take a back seat in the National Theater of Priorities. Who among us, especially we male member senior-citizenry, ever kept our eyeballs on Obama when he was in the company of Michelle? Who of us can truthfully mumble, "Yes, we listened to Obama more than Michelle" (when she spoke)? What a travesty that the First Lady saw fit to exit a plane in full view wearing "short-shorts." So unbecoming, so degrading, and so frustrating, especially again to us male-senior citizens.
